“I leave DPS Dubai with some firm commitments which will be the compass by which I navigate my future”
Individual commitment to any goal, person, or group is the greatest symbol of strength; the greatest superpower. And as a graduate, I acknowledge that my commitment to my school, my alma mater should be a powerful symbol of my gratitude and respect towards it.
My strongest commitment towards the school is my allegiance to its values, and the school’s vision and mission. From my first day in kindergarten, which I remember being my third birthday, to my last day in school, the school has always supported me in every venture. From my short fling with swimming to my passion for creative writing, I have always found opportunities waiting for me. Therefore, my passion for creative writing is also a part of this commitment, and it is my responsibility to use it effectively, and for good. By volunteering as a content writer with organizations like MedCreate and Alice in Methodologyland, I am and will continue to fulfill this commitment.
From my experience with COVID to examination days, DPS Dubai has always found a way to nurture me in the toughest of circumstances. I learned to accept difficulties as challenges and accept my emotions as gifts of life. However, as a student who has worked endlessly to secure what is my present today, I think that my strongest commitment is to myself. I need to consider every small step I take, and the impact it will have on me, and my future. I need to abide by my set of principles and values, which were instilled in me by my parents and the school. The quality of my life and work will be determined by my commitment to excellence, regardless of my chosen field or endeavor. Therefore, I must remain persistent and committed to my visions and goals, regardless of hardships and difficulties. At the same time, I need to learn how to tone down and relax in a way that aids me in maintaining this excellence.
These commitments in general, will lay the path for my future. Everything I do thereafter, will be to fulfill these commitments. I believe that life is simply a set of phases, and the phase I have now stepped out of is the phase of growth and nurturing. Education is a shared commitment between dedicated teachers,
motivated students, and enthusiastic parents with high expectations. And I leave DPS Dubai with some firm commitments of my own, which will be the compass by which I navigate my future.
