International students are admitted to NLSIU through an online National Law School Admission Test (NLSAT), which will be held on 26 April 2026. The NLSAT is designed to assess aptitude for higher education in law and public policy, emphasizing critical reading, analytical reasoning, and written expression rather than syllabus-based preparation.

Academic programmes open to international applicants include:

  • BA-LLB (Hons.): A five-year undergraduate degree integrating law with the social sciences and humanities.
  • BA (Hons): A three-year undergraduate degree in History, Economics, Politics, or Sociology and Anthropology, with an optional fourth-year research track.
  • LLB (Hons.): A three-year postgraduate law degree for students who already hold an undergraduate qualification.
  • LLM: A one-year postgraduate programme with specialized tracks in law, regulation, and governance.
  • Master of Public Policy (MPP): A professional programme focused on policy analysis, design, and implementation.
  • PhD programmes in law and allied disciplines.
